Shakti Foundation is honored to have participated in the GLOBE Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting in Male, Maldives

As Assistant Country Coordinator of the GLOBE Program in Bangladesh, Shakti Foundation is honored to have participated in the GLOBE Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting in Male, Maldives. The three-day-long meeting was attended by GLOBE Country Coordinators from 14 countries.

On Day 1, we presented our efforts to revive the program after a 10-year hiatus and received recognition for our achievements at Lalpur Nazrul Islam High School (Cumilla) in just 3 months. Our focus on STEM education for rural girls, namely the “Coding for Girls” initiative, particularly impressed the attendees. We highlighted key challenges like teacher motivation and language barriers, but the positive response from the GLOBE administrators, like introducing Bengali protocol translations to their website, was highly encouraging! On Day 2, we received training on the new features of the GLOBE website and App. On Day 3, we discussed the way forward and visited a wonderful school that was onboarded to GLOBE Program the same day.

The Bangladesh GLOBE Program, launched in February 2024, by Shakti Foundation, U.S. Embassy Dhaka, and Brighters Society Bangladesh marks a significant milestone in our nation's commitment to science education and environmental awareness.
