Green Triumph of Shakti: Planting 3,000 Trees and Spreading Environmental Awareness in Bangladesh

On the occasion of World Environment Day (WED) on 5th June, 2023 Shakti Foundation has successfully undertaken several green initiatives all over Bangladesh. In Feni district, 3,000 trees are planted at the premises of 6 sub districts as well as all union land offices. Moreover, 250 trees were planted at Cumilla Circuit House and 109 trees were planted at Khan Jahan Ali Police Station in Khulna. 

The chief guests presiding over the ceremony in each district were the honorable DC and District Magistrate Abu Salim Mahmud-Ul Hasan (Feni), honorable Additional DC Pankaj Barua (Cumilla), Additional Superintendent of Police Kamran Hossain (Cumilla), and Officer-in-charge Md Kamal Hossain Khan, (Khan Jahan Ali Police Station, Khulna). Shakti's nationwide green initiatives are a part of its organizational objectives to contribute towards a climate resilient nation.

The following representatives from Shakti Foundation were present at Feni district: Sankar Kumer Sarker (Director of Training), Md. Ismail Hossain (Deputy Director and Head of Treasury), Tamanna Yasmin Khan (Deputy Director, Office of Executive Director), Labiba Rahman (Consultant, Climate Change Department), Md. Faisalur Rahman (Senior General Manager, Microfinance Program), Farhana Naznin (Assistant General Manager, Marketing and Congratulations), Lucas Adhikary (Manager, Climate Change Department) and Mohammad Shibbir Hasan (Zonal Head, Feni District). Probin Kumar Sarkar (Assistant Director, Microfinance) and Syed Akhtaruzzaman (Region Head, Cumilla) were present at Cumilla Circuit House. Lucas Adhikari (Manager, Climate Change Department) and Md. Jamal Hossain (Regional Head, Khulna), were present at Khan Jahan Ali Police Station, Khulna.
