Staying true to its vision, Shakti Foundation has undertaken the initiative of distributing 5 lacs pieces of sanitary napkin at a token price among disadvantaged women and girls on the occasion of Mujib Borsho through Shakti Medical Care Centers (SMCCs) under Shakti’s Health Program. We believe, women empowerment cannot be achieved without ensuring good health and general well-being of women. As part of this drive, Shakti held awareness sessions with female workers of leading garments factory Tarasima Apparels of Bitopi Group on 21 November 2020, and arranged to distribute 2000 packets at 10 taka each from their fair price shop. The objective is to raise awareness among women about hygienic practices during period to avoid future serious health consequences.
