Mayarani Sen, aged nearly ninety years, has been living at Barisal Boyoshko Punorbashon Kendro old-age home for almost three years. A kind-hearted samaritan brought her here upon finding her abandoned on the streets. Since then, this elderly care facility has been her abode. Mayarani no longer retains any memory due to aging, and her body is afflicted with several painful ailments.
With the aim of leaving no one behind, Shakti Foundation has been organizing a variety of social events for the elderly and abandoned, such as Mayarani Sen. To this end, Shakti, with the support of the British High Commission in Dhaka, arranged a health camp for the residents of Barishal Boyoshko Punorbashon Kendro old-age home on June 27, 2024. Under the supervision of specialist doctors, numerous health services and free medicines were provided to 65 residents to improve their overall health and well-being.
