On March 22, 2018, A rally organized by MRA, PKSF and SDF on the occasion of the special service week, a total of 50 activists from Shakti Foundation to gather the rally at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, gathering in a colorful procession at 3.30 pm at the Shishu Academy and Doyle Chattar in Dhaka

BANK ASIA AND SHAKTI FOUNDATION SHAKE HAND ON WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

Bank Asia Limited and Shakti Foundation for Disadvantaged Women signed an agreement aiming to promote digital financial inclusion among Shakti’s beneficiaries. Mr. Md Arfan Ali, President & Managing Director of Bank Asia, the pioneering Agent Banking provider in Bangladesh, and Ms. Humaira Islam PhD, Founder & Executive Director of Shakti Foundation, a prominent micro finance institution and the pioneer in urban micro finance, have inked the agreement on behalf of respective sides at a simple ceremony held on Thursday January 18, 2018 at the Head Office of Shakti Foundation in Dhaka. Senior officials of both the organizations were present. This partnership agreement has been facilitated by the MetLife Foundation and MicroSave on behalf of Shakti Foundation for digitization of various micro-credit transactions like loan disbursement, repayment and savings deposit of Shakti Foundation beneficiaries through the agent banking of Bank Asia. Under this agreement the nationwide Shakti branch network will also act as the agent network for Bank Asia.

SHAKTI FOUNDATION GOT THE MICROSOFT YOUTH SPARK GRANT

During the signing of the agreement between Microsoft Bangladesh and Shakti Foundation, the founder executive director of Shakti Foundation was present to work together for the development of underprivileged women. Humayra Islam, Project Advisor of Shakti Foundation Imran Ahmed, President of Southeast Asia Newmarkets Michel Symons and Managing Director of Microsoft Bangladesh Bashir Kabir.
